Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14) and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday (March 28th). Lent is a season of conversion. We turn our hearts and minds back to God and turn away from what distracts us. Many Catholics give up something as a sacrifice and offer that up to God. Some might add something to supercharge their prayer life and spiritual practices. Others might do a little of both.
Instead of giving up chocolate, Grande lattes, microbrews, or shopping again this Lent, consider participating in our
1 in 40 opportunity for Liturgical Volunteers
This is how it works:
You choose to become a liturgical volunteer for 1 Mass (at any posted time) on any of the 40 days of Lent (weekday or weekend). You choose the position, you choose the day, and you choose the Mass.
One time. No further commitment.
Positions available for volunteers include -
- All Masses: Eucharistic Minister* or Lector
- Weekend Only Masses: Acolyte*, Usher, Gift Bearer, or Commentator
Forms are available in the church and parish office to express your interest and make your requests. Questions can be directed to Fr. Jim.
*A short instructional discussion scheduled at your convenience will be offered to those interested.
