Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve the gathered assembly during Mass by assisting with the distribution of the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Some Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion also bring the Eucharist to homebound parishioners, nursing homes, hospitals or other such institutions. In this way, the entire parish community may be strengthened and nourished to carry on Jesus’ work in the world.
